Every week participants have to answer a question so that we can all get to know each other a little better. This week's question is:

Q: Do you read one book at a time or do you switch back and forth between two or more?

I always used to read just one book at a time but over the last couple of years (ever since I got my ereader) I generally have one physical book and one ebook on the go at any one time. But I always have to make sure that they are from pretty different genres so that I don't get confused about what happened in each book. So, for example, at the moment on my ereader I am reading Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah Maclean (Historical Romance) and in paperback I'm reading Crave by Melissa Darnell (YA Paranormal Romance). Not sure if other people have to do this too or if I am just easily confused :P

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Umm, I'm not sure how to put this without making myself sound incredibly boring. I have never done anything crazy to get my hands on a book. But I am looking forward to reading some crazy stories as I work my way through the blog hop :)

On a side note, next month I will be devoting my blog to all things paranormal romance to celebrate Valentine's Day. I have got loads of reviews and author guest posts lined up and I have organised some very good giveaways for you all. But what I am lacking is some blogger guest posts. Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

Oh no, I hardly listen to any music at all so I haven't really got an answer for this one! I occasionally listen to the radio in the background whilst I'm reading but I don't have a band or singer that I really like. Maybe I should jot down some names while I'm visiting other blogs today and get some ideas :)

Keeping with the Spirit of Giving this season, what book do you think EVERYONE should read and if you could, you would buy it for all of your family and friends?

Oh no! This is a really hard one as there are so many books I love that I would end up absolutely broke if I had to buy copies for all my friends and family! Some of these books would be:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Storm Born by Richelle Mead
Matched by Allie Condie
Mark of the Sylph by Rosalie Lario
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs
Avenger's Angel by Heather Killough-Walden

And this is a shortened list as most of them are part of a series that I loved, so I've just listed one book rather than the whole series! Plus some of them are a bit too steamy to give to relatives so they might have to just be for friends ;)

I'm pretty sure that the Harry Potter books are going to be a popular answer again this week but I still haven't read them yet! But I'm planning on starting that series once I've finished the two books I'm currently reading and I'm very excited :)

What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!


Hmm, now let me think about this. I think the one thing that really gets to me is insta-love in YA fiction. I just can't get my head around how two teenage characters can fall in love the second they meet and know they will be together forever. I know that in a book things have to happen quite quickly but this just doesn't feel realistic to me.


Oh, and although I absolutely loved Twilight a couple of years ago when I read the books, I have since developed a hate of 100 year old vampires falling for 17 year old girls. That is just too creepy! Doesn't bother me so much in adult PNR books when the woman is, well, a woman. But for the love interest to be only seventeen is a little disturbing in my opinion!

In light of 11.11.11 and Veteran’s Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fictional or real life.

OK, this is a tough one as I don't know any soldiers in real life and as far as I can remember I haven't read about any either. So I'm going to have to go for the cop-out answer and say that I honestly think that all soldiers are amazing people who deserve a lot of respect for putting their lives on the line for the rest of us every single day!

This week is a bit different and Parajunkee has asked us to post a photo of ourselves with our current read. Now as I don't know how to move pictures I take from my camera to my computer (and my hubby is in hospital and can't help me) I'm afraid that it will have to be a photo that is already on my computer. And this photo also happens to have my gorgeous little boy in it too :)



And as for my current read, it is on my ereader so a photo of it wouldn't have been too good anyway. Anyway it is a romantic suspense filled to the brim with sexy fireman! I'm liking it so far! And here is a picture of the yummy cover just for you ;)

If you coud pick one character in a book, movie or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

One of my favourite series ever is the Dark Swan series by Richelle Mead so I would absolutely love to be Eugenie Markham. She is completely kick-ass, she has got two gorgeous men after her and she is a gentry queen - what more could you ask for! Although she does also have a lot of gentry men trying to rape her which isn't great but she is kick-ass enough to take care of herself

What book that hasn't been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?

Ooh, this is a really hard one for me! I don't watch many films so having to pick an actor for a character I love is really difficult! But I'll have a go :)

I would love to see one of my favourite books ever - Outlander by Diana Gabaldon - turned into a film. In fact I think I may have heard rumours about it being made into a film at some point! And I would like to see Gerard Butler cast as Jamie Fraser. They are both gorgeous, strapping Scottish men and I'm pretty sure I'd be there in an instant to see that film :)

Do you have a favorite series that you read over and over again? Tell us a bit about it and why you keep on revisiting it?

To be honest, I don't really have a series that I have read over and over again. There are so many series out there that I just don't feel like I have the time to read a series many times. That being said, over the last year or so I have read loads of great series that I will probably re-read a few years down the line.

Follow Friday #1

Hi all and welcome to my first ever Follow Friday!

Every week participants have to answer a question so that we can all get to know each other a little better. This week's question is:

Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?

Ok, so I've had a good hard think about this question and I can honestly say that I can't think of any villains that I have wanted to win.

The best I could come up with was a villain that was really well written and who I could sympathise with (but I think he is a little bit crazy so I don't think I'd want him to win!). This villain is Valentine from the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I've only read the first two books in the series but the parts written from Valentine's POV really give a good insight into why he is doing what he is doing and why he believes what he is doing is absolutly the best course of action for everybody.

Right, that's my thought on the subject matter. What do you think?
