Book Info - In a world where angels rule over humans, twelve outcasts dare to defy expectation, warring with their angel brethren to prevent the extinction of humankind.

They are The Fallen.

Michael is one of twelve angels who have been outcast due to their determination to protect humankind. In order to preserve his immortality and strength, he must find a mate with angel blood. Eva Smyth has never believed the propaganda spouted by the Consortium - the elite system of guards put into place once angels took over reign of Earth - but she never expected to learn the angels plan to eradicate all of humankind, or that she herself is part angel. Joining Michael means living a life on the run, at war against the angels and hunted by the Consortium. Eva must decide whether to risk it all... for love of an angel.

My Thoughts - I have recently read the first two books in Rosalie Lario's Demons of Infernum series and I absolutely loved them. So when I was offered this novella for review I was very excited! I am glad to say that I loved this book almost as much as the books in the author's other series.

The author has created a fascinating world where the existence of angels is common knowledge. All humans are under the 'protection' of the angels, who decide where humans work, live etc. The main character, Eva, has always had doubts about the angel's motives and doesn't believe that they are purely good as most other humans do. I loved the fact that Eva is able to think for herself in a world where that just doesn't happen anymore. She is a strong character and I really liked her from the very first page.

Michael is a fallen angel who Eva comes into contact with. He is fallen because he wants to prevent the other angels from killing humankind so that they can take over the earth (see - Eva was right to doubt the angels!). As you can imagine, there is an instant connection between Eva and Michael and there are some very, very steamy scenes! I also really liked Michael as a main character. He is caring and considerate, whilst at the same time being incredibly sexy!

For Love of an Angel is just a short novella and it concentrates on setting the scene for the rest of the series. A good storyline is set up but it was far too much in the background for my liking. Michael reveals the truth about the other angels to Eva and they spend a lot of time getting to know each other - through conversation and... um...other ways! But as a result of this, not much really happens. I just kept wishing that there would be a little bit of action at some point - other than all the action in the bedroom of course! It really was just Michael and Eva, together, learning about each other and their pasts for the entire novella.

Summary - Despite this one reservation I had, For Love of an Angel is a great start to an intriguing Paranormal Romance series. Once again, Ms. Lario has managed to realistically create a world that is so different from out own, whilst adding in a steamy romance with two characters that are easy to fall in love with. I am glad I already have a copy of book two as I can't wait to start reading it!
